Below is information I gathered to share in the hopes of helping others who are affected by cancer and are navigating the difficult decisions regarding treatment. You can read about my own experience in the Real Cancer Experiences section and how it led to information shared below.
One thing is certain, when it comes to cancer we need to move the ball forward on treatments and start pushing the current standard of care to adapt new ways to manage or treat cancer that are currently considered non-conventional. For example, metabolic therapies that can be used with the standard or care or on their own. This is a tall order, but learning and educating ourselves is the first step!
Science is ever evolving as new information is learned, discovered, and published. I will be periodically updating this information to follow the science, conventional and non-conventional, in the hope that this will help someone navigating this journey. I will try my best to stick to peer reviewed studies and clearly state what is anecdotal. I am not a medical practitioner and you should always consult a medical professional when considering your treatment or using any medicine.
I hope you can join me in this journey to help progress the research on cancer and improve the treatments that currently exist.

Cancer as a Metabolic Disease - All Cancers
All of the information below overlaps and is intertwined with each other. If you take the time to read/listen/watch what each person has uncovered and implemented, you will see they all have fundamental roots to Thomas Seyfried's metabolic approach to cancer. Some stumbled upon this approach, others deep dived and researched scientific studies to come up with their protocol, while others are actual scientist and doctors who implemented studies and protocols through scientific methods and approaches. With the personal, scientific, and medical data shared below, one can not discount the metabolic approach and its effectiveness against cancer.
Thomas Seyfried - All Cancers
Learn about cancer as a metabolic disease and treatment protocols from Thomas Seyfried. He is a professor of biology at Boston University and you can view his published scientific papers, information, and resources at his website www.tomseyfried.com. Below are podcasts where he discusses cancer as a metabolic disease and treatment protocols. As he is not a practicing medical doctor, he is hesitant and often does not directly share the step by step of how to implement the metabolic protocol. Below I have summarized what I have learned and implemented for myself.
What I have gathered as a Metabolic Press Pulse treatment snapshot: *Before implementing any protocol, do your research and work with a medical professional if possible.
SPECIAL NOTE: In order to do the metabolic approach, you have to implement this YOURSELF. There is no doctor or facility that will do the work for you. There is no chair you sit in to get infusions, no radiation targeted at you. This approach is very much on YOU to implement and execute. And trust me, you can do it; it is not too hard, but it does require discipline and a willingness to make lifestyle changes. Remember you can do this protocol alongside chemotherapy and radiation with proven increased efficacy of these types of treatments. The best part about this protocol is that it is non-toxic and heals your whole body while being implemented, unlike the current standard of care. One day I hope that these protocols will be implemented with the current standard of care, but until then, be your own advocate, do not be afraid to step outside of the box, and do the research!
Ketosis - put your body into ketosis to deprive cancers cells in your body of glucose. This is to slow down the growth rate of cancer cells and puts the cancer cells in a stressed state as they switch to their alternate fuel source, glutamine. They will adapt to use glutamine as a fuel source in the absence of glucose.
Get a monitoring device to check keytone and glucose levels. The golden standard to check keytone levels is through blood which can be done using a device like the Keto Mojo or something similar. The goal is to get your ketone levels into the therapeutic zones, between 2-3, and to keep your glucose levels in the low 70's if you can. The keto mojo will automatically calculate your glucose keytone index (GKI) so you will know when you are in the therapeutic level for cancers.

Glutamine Inhibitors - Find glutamine inhibitors like 6-diazo-5-oxo-L-norleucine (DON) or natural glutamine inhibitors like berberine. You will find that medications like DON are not easy to obtain or use, especially without the guidance of a doctor. I highly suggest that you take Jane McLelland's course on the cell signaling to learn about the various pathways of a cancer cell in order to discern what type of potential drug or natural treatments to use to suppress your cancer cells. Mebendazole/Fenbendazole has strong evidence of suppressing glutamine among other pathways of a cancer cell. Use the glutamine inhibitor as directed by a medical professional or research has stated (see Joe Tippens protocol below).
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) - Find a hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) tank you can use. Unfortunately, treatments are not cheap. You can either pay as you use one, rent one monthly, or purchase your own. I highly suggest watching this podcast that discusses ketosis and HBOT use for cancer treatment. You can also see how it was used in Den Stacey's treatment protocol in this podcast. It's worth educating yourself on the benefits of HBOT and to see if it can work into your budget for treatment.
Putting the press/pulse treatment in action:
The press pulse method is that you press (or stress) cancer cells out by staying in a therapeutic level of ketosis which deprives them of glucose for energy. Then take a glutamine inhibitor on a specified schedule (ex: three days on, two weeks off depending on what you are taking). Take the glutamine inhibitor about 30 minutes before you use HBOT for the most beneficial results. HBOT should be used routinely, even when you are not taking a glutamine inhibitor, as its benefits are cumulative and help kill cancer cells as you use it. Your stage and type of cancer will determine how long you should use HBOT. It has been demonstrated that using it three times a week is highly effective.
As you are pressing on the cancer (ketosis) you then pulse the cancer (glutamine suppression with HBOT). With each pulse it kills cancer cells and this is repeated until they are all killed. A case study for Den Stacey who had stage 4 heart cancer that had spread to his lungs showed he used this protocol for about six months when his scans showed no evidence of disease. You can do the full deep dive in understanding the press/pulse protocol by reading Thomas Seyfried's Cancer as a Metabolic Disease: On the Origin, Management, and Prevention of Cancer.
The best part of this method is that it is not toxic and can actually help heal your healthy cells unlike treatments like radiation or chemotherapy.
Also, it should be noted that some parts or all of this therapy can be used with standard of care treatments such as radiation or chemotherapy making them more effective and allowing lower doses or exposures. You will have to research and determine what treatment plan will work best for you, which can feel like a daunting task, especially if you have a diagnosis that is late stage. I hope the linked podcasts and information will provide hope to those who read this, even with late stage cancer.
But don't just take my word for it. Take a look at some real cancer experiences including my own, case studies published on the Hippocrates Research Foundation (HRF), as well as many other testimonies you may come across (Joe Tippens, Jane McLelland, Guy Tenenbaum, and Angie N. Choi to name a few).

You can find his case study on the Hippocrates Research Foundation website (link below) along with others.
Ketosis and Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) - Learn more about Ketosis and HBOT and its effect on cancer cells in this interview with neuroscientist Dominic D'Agostino. Ketosis and HBOT are powerful tools that can be used with chemotherapy and radiation, or on its own.
Jane McLelland - All Cancers
I personally have taken Jane's course. At first I wondered if I had wasted $129, but quickly realized Jane does a thorough deep dive into the multi-faceted signaling and pathways of a cancer cell. She offers detailed information on what drugs or natural treatments to consider depending on the cancer type and pathways you are looking to target. I highly recommend taking her course if you can. Jane is cancer free well over 20 years and has helped numerous people achieve the same or keep their existing cancer from further growth.
Joe Tippens Protocol - All Cancers (Joe Tippens does not profit from any links or supplement companies)
Learn about Joe Tippens' experience with stage 4 lung cancer diagnosed in 2017 that metastasized after chemotherapy and radiation treatment. When told by the medical community there was no treatment options left and to get his affairs in order, a friend reached out and told him about a discovery a veterinary scientist, who worked for Merck pharmaceuticals, came upon when treating mice with Fenbendazole. Thankfully, this discovery has allowed him to remain cancer free to tell his story. He lays out his experience and the protocol in his blog which you can find in the links below.
